Weaving communities across time and continents

November 20, 2020

A docent led exhibit of woven textiles and objects from 11 different parts of the world: from ancient to modern times.

View and learn about cloth objects reflecting history.  Study the ancient art concepts, the dyes and the stories and philosophy behind these historical traditions.

Curator, Katie Fleming, takes us on a virtual tour of the museum’s exhibit to explore clothing and textiles as sites of identity formation, cultural resilience and resistance. Questions will be answered.  Phoebe Hearst Museum of Anthropology is a Hidden Gem founded by Phoebe Hearst, mother of William Randolph Hearst.

Brought to you by Sebastopol Area Senior Center. All ages welcome. Cost: Members, $10; Non-Members, $15. Register: or call 707 829 2440.
