Help out with special projects

The Volunteer Center of Sonoma County needs people to work at the front desk provide customer service, welcome members and the public, answer phones, schedule appointments and help with special projects from 1-5 p.m. Wed. and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays. Holiday help needed at thrift shop

The Welfare League’s Railroad Square thrift shop revenues fund scholarships, community grants and Christmas Unlimited. Meet the nonprofit’s leadership at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 7 for coffee and a behind the scenes look at the shop. Volunteer for holiday distribution, four hours in early Dec., or membership, eight hours per month. Bilingual skills appreciated. Call Patti at 707-322-4325.


Check in, visit with seniors

Social Call volunteers meet with older adults for weekly social visits, providing companionship and a listening ear. Matches are based on location, availability and shared interests. Volunteers receive training and ongoing support. Bilingual volunteers encouraged to apple. Contact Casey O’Neill at 415-535-7741.


Naptime support needed

YWCA Sonoma County’s A Special Place therapeutic preschool needs help at naptime. Volunteers are needed to lay out cots, pillows and blankets to promote sweet dreams. Contact Alli Rios at 707-303-8403.


Volunteers needed at makerspace

180 Studios is a makerspace in Santa Rosa that needs woodshop stewards, people to maintain computers, electricians, front desk and office support and other volunteers to provide public access to professional maker equipment.
