Serve dinner at local shelters

Groups of volunteers are needed every night to serve dinner at shelters-Family Support Center, Nightingale Respite Shelter and Sam Jones Hall. Volunteers are needed 4:30-7 p.m. Monday to Thursday. No experience needed. Contact Emily at


Be a friend to isolated adults

Foster social connections through one-on-one visits with isolated older adults. Visits are once a week for one to two hours. Six-month commitment required. Matches are made based on location, common interests and schedules. Background check, training and support provided. Contact Casey O’Neill at 415-535-7741.


Volunteers needed for visits

The holidays can be a lonely and stressful time for patients and their families. Heartland Hospice is looking for compassionate people to provide support to patients for respite for their family members. This could include visiting, reading, taking walks or allowing family members to take care of necessary errands or simply have some time alone. Training is provided and scheduling is flexible. Help with holiday program

The Welfare League needs volunteers for three-hour time slots during the annual “Christmas Unlimited” distribution in Railroad Square form Dec. 10 to 12 Volunteers will greet or escort parents through the shop to the gift areas. Call Ann at 707-479-7027
