Lend a hand preparing meals

The Living Room is looking for women volunteers to serve hot breakfast and lunch on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. A food safety certificate is required. Men and women kitchen volunteers are also needed tp prepare breakfast and lunch. Food handlers training will be provided. Contact Katie Phillips at 707-579-0138.


Senior support peers

Senior Peer Support volunteers with life experience (5-+) are needed to support senior clients struggling with depression, anxiety, isolation and other life challenges related to aging. Meet in the client’s home one hour a week and attend weekly supervision meetings. A 12-week training session is offered in spring and fall. Bilingual and LGBTQ applicants are a plus. Volunteers are needed for seal watch

Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods is seeking volunteers to help protect harbor seals at the rookery at the mouth of Russian River along Goat Rock Beach. Volunteers inform visitors about seal identification, natural history and international protection. Work four-hour shifts on weekends from March through Labor Day. call 707-869-9177 for more information.


Ease pain at end of life

Hospice by the Bay is looking for a complementary care volunteer to perform healing touch, reiki and acupressure for people facing end-of-life challenges. One-year commitment and certification are required. Language skills a plus. In-depth hospice training provided. Apply at


Help with a gala for critters

The Paws for Love Foundation needs help with its 21st annual fundraising gala Feb. 8. The Santa Rosa nonprofit provides funding to shelters, rescue groups and individuals caring for abused and abandoned pets. The event needs poster hangers, food servers, cashiers and auction assistants, among others. Email


Make it happen at makerspace

180 Studios, a makerspace in Santa Rosa, needs volunteers to assist with maintenance, events, electrical work, member check-in and editing a newsletter, among other needs to provide public access to professional maker equipment. Board members needed

Friend’s House, a FASE nonprofit senior residential community based on Quaker principles of community and simplicity would like new members for its board of directors. People with future-planning perspective, financial skill, values consistent with those of current residents and interest in aging in place are encouraged to reach out. Being Quaker is not required.
