High school mentors wanted

Roseland high schoolers seek positive, enthusiastic adults to serve as mentors for college-bound 11th grade students for transitioning into college. Trainings and group activities are provided. Time commitment is at least two hours monthly in Santa Rosa. Contact Sarah Tendall at stendall@roselandsd.org.

Seeking passionate grant writer

Integrative Healers Action Network provides acute and long-term care to communities impacted by emergency situations. They need a grant writer to write compelling fundraising proposals. Passion, great communication skills, knowledge of Excel and Google Docs are needed. Up to 20 hours a week. Contact Cynthia Mears at 415-308-9948.

Family advocates needed

YWCA Sonoma County needs volunteers to advocate for families residing in YWCA Safe House or receiving services. Duties include answering a hotline and business phone, attending shelter intakes and working with residents from intake to exit. Domestic violence training provided by YWCA is required and proficiency in Spanish a plus. Fill out an application at ywcasc.org/get-involved/volunteer. Contact Alli Rios at 707-303-8403.

Transport seniors on errands

Volunteer drivers are needed to get homebound seniors in Windsor and a small portion of north Santa Rosa to appointments and grocery stores. The Windsor Wheels program aims to reduce isolation and increase wellness in our senior population. Contact Nancy Caldwell at 707-838-6641, ext. 244. 

Kids play in snow with your aid

Help children explore, build, create and pay in 50 tons of snow from Jan. 18-20. Volunteers will supervise children, answer questions, manage toboggan runs and more. Morning or afternoon shifts are available with lunch or snacks provided. Sign up at cmosc.org/volunteer/or email abby@cmosc.org.
