Structure fire displaces family

November 1, 2019

Wed. Oct 23 at 4:35 p.m. the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a structure fire located at 144 Estrella Dr. located within the Rancho Feliz Mobile Home Park. Neighbors reported a large amount of smoke coming from the home. The first RPDPS unit arrived within three minutes and reported heavy black smoke coming out of the windows. The occupants of the residence were not home at the time of the fire.

The fire spread quickly through the rear of the home, but an aggressive initial fire attack from the Rohnert Park fire crews along with the assistance from the Rancho Adobe Fire District and the Sonoma County Fire District led to the fire being contained within the unit. The fire was quickly knocked down with full extinguishment within the first ten minutes of arrival. One neighbor was treated on scene and released for a laceration on his hand from breaking a window to check if the residents were inside.

Fire investigators were currently on scene and were conducting a preliminary investigation. At this point there has been no determination of the cause or the value of the damaged contents.
