It seems that everywhere we look, people are sick with symptoms we think of as colds and flu. Some have headaches or intestinal issues. Many have body aches all over. Most are complaining of having no energy and may not be able to sleep well. Perhaps you are one of these people. What to do?!
If you are feeling so badly that you are not wanting to get out of bed, many people call their doctor to get an antibiotic. Others try their favorite home remedies.
If you have a cold, flu or other viral condition, the antibiotics that are targeting bacterial infections will not be of much help. There is also much concern now about the overuse of antibiotics causing the microbes to mutate and become resistant to the antibiotics that we have. There is also concern about the effect these antibiotics have on the microbes in our intestines that digest our food for us and perform other needed symbiotic functions.
Boosting our immune system with Vitamin C, Elderberry or Echinacea are just a few examples of things we can do for ourselves. The old fashioned drink of hot water with lemon and honey will soothe a sore throat and is an antibacterial boost – lots of vitamin C in citrus and honey is naturally antibacterial.
Our county is a wonderful place for lots of availability of advice and products that will boost our immune systems in a natural way. Do take advantage of this!
