The Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District Board of Trustees is renewing its search for a new, permanent superintendent of schools to lead its nearly 5,640 students and 555 employees.
Members of the Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District community are invited to attend meetings to provide input related to the superintendent search, including strengths and critical needs of schools and the district, as well as criteria the school board should consider in its superintendent selection. One-hour meetings will be held every hour on Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the L-1 Conference Room at Technology Middle School, 7165 Burton Ave. in Rohnert Park. Community members can select the meeting time that works best for them.
A community meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m., Nov. 20 in the Library at Technology Middle School. Community members can also complete a survey posted on the District’s website: www.crpusd.org, to be completed by 11/22/2019.
The Board’s search firm, The Cosca Group (TCG), is an organization of retired superintendents active throughout California in assisting school districts in recruiting and selecting educational leaders. TCG consultants, Dr. Dave Brown and Dr. Steve Goldstone, met with the board on Oct. 22 and finalized a renewed process and timeline aimed at having a new superintendent in place by the start of the 2020-21 school year.
The information received at these meetings and through the survey will be provided to the board at their Dec. 10 meeting and used to identify the kind of leader desired as the school district moves into the future. A set of criteria will be developed and used by the search firm to attract qualified individuals to apply for the position.
