North Coast Builders Exchange announces new president, officers and board members

July 30, 2021

North Coast Builders Exchange (NCBE) has elected Mike Behler, General Manager of Behler Construction as the new 2021-2022 President of the construction organization. NCBE is one of the largest building industry organizations in the state, with more than 1000 members, primarily in Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino, and Napa Counties.

Behler has been a member of the Builders Exchange for more than 23 years and had served as the organization’s president in 2001. According to Behler, “I think I was rather green for my first term as President, but over the years, I have become deeply involved in most of the key roles and pursuits of NCBE on behalf of the members we serve and the communities we work in.”

Labor shortages in the building industry are one of the most pressing concerns for NCBE and are an area of focus for Behler and the organization. Behler noted, “NCBE has played a significant role in developing and managing the North Bay Construction Corps, a hands-on program designed to introduce High School seniors to employment opportunities in construction. The program has been highly successful, and many of the participants have been hired into construction jobs with North Bay construction companies.”

“Membership growth is always a high priority,” said Behler. “Our organization is financially strong, and our members are committed to our programs and our advocacy for construction. We do know that adding to the member base will give us an even greater opportunity to expand our support for our members and the construction industry.”

In addition to electing Behler as President, the organization has announced the four officers and 18 board members who will lead NCBE this year. Officers include; 1st Vice President Rob Cantu, 2nd Vice President Larry Richmond, Secretary/Treasurer Tony Simmons, and immediate Past President Craig Lawson.

Members of the 2021 -2022 Board of Directors include Bruce Baggenstos, Wes Barry, Mark Borghesani, Jeff Scott, Barbie Simpson, Rebecca Uribe, Tom Boylan, Amy Christopherson Bolten, Geoff Coleman, Matt Endriss, Dan Galvin, Clay Green, Doug Hamilton, Ken Kreischer, Tom Swegle, Brett Wilmes, Paul Yeomans, and Eric Ziedrich.
