On April 12, 2021 at approximately 10 a.m., the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety communications center received a call of a mobile home on fire in Las Casitas Park. Police and Fire personnel responded and arrived within two minutes to find a mobile home fully engulfed in smoke and fire. The residents had escaped; however, they both were exposed to large amounts of smoke while rescuing one of their dogs. Unfortunately, they were not able to rescue their second dog who was later found deceased in the mobile home. The two residents received medical care on scene.
Fire personnel from Rohnert Park, Rancho Adobe and Sonoma County Fire worked together to bring this blaze under control. Due to the quick actions of the first arriving engines, the adjacent mobile homes were saved from any damage.
The loss and damages due to the fire is estimated to be $100,000. The cause of fire is still under investigation at this time.
