Luther Burbank’s birthday is March 7 and it is being celebrated with a plant sale and gift shop opening Saturday and Sunday, Marc 6-7, from 1-4 p.m.

They will be featuring Burbank introductions; plants the Luther worked with and improved. Some of Burbank’s originals are Shasta Daisy ‘Alaska,’ Spineless Cactus Paddles, Sisyrinchium striatum ‘Yellow-eyed grass’ and Snowbank Blackberries.

There will also be non-Burbank options: succulents, spider plants, St. Elmo’s Fire Pelargoniums and Amaryllis bulbs.

The gift shop is open but be prepared to have a socially distanced and carefully managed look-see. Sorry there are no tours at this time.
