Cotati Council may continue meeting to fire manager. A very business-like agenda marks tonight’s meeting of the Cotati City Council, as it will discuss a proposal for a mini-park and several Planning Commission recommendations.

In the old business, the council will vote on an amending ordinance to provide for a 10-day stay period in the tree ordinance and another amendment providing for control of dogs in all public places.

However, the council will most likely adjourn the Thursday meeting following all scheduled business and reports, until Monday when they will probably meet in personnel session to fire City Manager Paul Salfen, said Councilwoman Annette Lombardi on Monday.

The city manager ordinance which was amended to provide for the firing of Salfen on only a simple council majority vote goes into effect Saturday and Monday is the earliest possible weekday. After notice of firing, Salfen will have 30 days left in office.

The council will hear a Park and Recreation Commission request to construct another mini park, less than a ½ in size on Delano Ave.

Five Planning Commission recommendations will reach council consideration including a proposed general plan amendment to change August Lovemark’s 25-acre parcel on Cypress Ave. from medium density to low density designation.
