Congregation Shomrei Torah hosts forum on key ballot propositions

The Social Action Committee of Congregation Shomrei Torah presents a forum on propositions 15,16,17, 20 and Measure P. This Zoom event takes place on Tuesday, October 13 at 7 p.m. There will be an opportunity for questions following each presentation.

Prop 15: Schools & Communities First: Tax on Commercial and Industrial Properties for Education and Local Government Funding Initiative

Prop 16: Repeal Proposition 209 Affirmative Action Amendment

Prop 17: Voting Rights Restoration for Persons on Parole Amendment 

Prop 20: Rollback on Criminal Justice Reforms: Criminal Sentencing, Parole, and DNA Collection Initiative

Measure P: The Evelyn Cheatham Effective IOLERO Ordinance:  Increased law enforcement transparency and accountability in the Sheriff’s Office 

Speaking on Propositions 15 and 16 will be Jeremy Brott. Since 1998 he has been a member of the Bennett Valley School District Board of Trustees and for the past 13 years has served on the Sonoma County Committee on School District Organization.

Speaking on Propositions 17, 20 and Measure P will be Linda Evans. Linda is an activist, incarcerated for her political activities for 16 years, and released by President Clinton in 2001. She continues to advocate for prison reform and immigrant rights.
