The last time I wrote an article on our local restaurants and eating establishments was March 2020. As the state opens and the pandemic restrictions recede, I now get to engage once more two of my favorite pastimes, eating and writing about my visits to our local food and beverage establishments. We’ve lost a few along the way and that saddens me. After months of home cooked or fast food, delivery meals, I was eager to go out and have a sit-down lunch. I chose Superburger in Cotati, CA because it was on my way from another engagement, and I’d heard good things about them.

I wasn’t disappointed. Located at the corner of Charles Street and Old Redwood Highway in Cotati, their establishment was clean and well lit. It has the feel of an old fashion neighborhood soda/burger bar. Primarily black and white décor, the wait staff was attentive and pleasant to the needs of their customers. There was a mix of diners inside and outside enjoying their lunch. Adding to the neighborhood vibe, many were addressed by their names as they picked up their orders.

It’s a casual place serving traditional American fare. In addition to a wide range of burgers, they have chicken sandwiches, various hot dogs and links, and a variety of sides to go with your meal such as different types of fries, onion rings and tater tots, as well as a “Cup ‘O’ Chili. They also serve a Pineapple Coleslaw. Beverages include over 24 flavors for their shakes, fountain sodas, teas, and lemonade to include an Arnold Palmer which is ½ lemonade and ½ iced tea. There is a limited kids menu comprised of a Cheeseburger, Chicken Nuggies, or Hot Dog that come with fries or onion rings.

I walked in savoring a good burger but after perusing their extensive menu, decided on chili, rings and a shake. My meal was ready in short order and I thoroughly enjoyed my selection.

Superburger is open daily from 11:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. You can dine-in, take-out, or do delivery. Their on-line reviews from Yelp or Trip Advisor are mostly good to outstanding, although they’re somewhat outdated having been posted pre-pandemic. Their prices are reasonable, a bit higher than some and a little lower than others. Based on my visit, I would recommend them as a great place for a quick lunch when you’re out and about the quaint downtown area of Cotati.
