More businesses have reopened, which has increased the amount of traffic on the roads. Not back to pre-pandemic levels, but enough to qualify as a “commute.” There are more drivers on the road waiting until they reach their turn off before changing lanes to take the exit. Tuesday afternoon one such driver, allegedly, cut in front of this truck right before the Todd Road off ramp. The truck driver swerved to avoid the ensuing collision and sailed into the adjacent field. The other driver did not stop and as of this writing has not contacted authorities. The truck driver survived the incident. CHP, SCFD and Cal Trans are seen assessing the damage, gathering investigative information, ensuring the damaged truck did not pose fire or any other danger to near-by residents and discussing the best way to move the truck.
