The first of Rancho’s best

These are the senior pictures of Larry Ruminson, left, and his wife, Josephine (formerly Vendice) who married in 1984 and had three children whom all graduated from Rancho Cotate High. They also have a grandson who currently is a junior at the Ranch. Larry was the school's first student body president and was named Best All-Around Boy, while Jo was tabbed as her class' Most Flirtatious Girl.

Welcome to the new age of Rancho Cotate Football

The school is celebrating its 50th anniversary tonight, which means there are even more potential distractions for his team, which squares off against Santa Rosa High in Cougar Stadium at 7:30 p.m.

The Ranch spawns numerous great athletes over 50 years

Joe Guinn, still considered to be one of the finest heavyweight wrestlers in state history, won the CIF State Tournament, while teammate Gary Soto was a second-place finisher. Chris Taylor-Yamanoha, who starred four years for the Cougars’ football team, is currently a red-shirt freshman at the University of Louisville.
