Election measures
November 16, 2018

The recent election results provide some good news for the city’s parks and streets. First, the defeat of Proposition 6 means that we will continue to receive over $700,000 per year in additional gas tax funding to maintain our streets. Second, passage of Measure M, the sales tax measure for parks, will result in over $400,000 annually for our parks. We will be able to keep fields and courts in better shape and add new features for all to enjoy. Arts and Crafts Faire kicks off Black Friday shopping On your marks, get set, shop at the 39th annual Holiday Arts & Crafts Faire. This free two-day event is from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Thanksgiving weekend (Fri., Nov. 23 – Sat., Nov. 24). Shop your local art and crafts vendors for unique gifts at the Rohnert Park Community Center at 5401 Snyder Lane. Your little ones are welcome at our Little Elves’ Workshop (ages 5-12 okay without parent; children 4 and under with parental supervision only). Our trained staff will help your children write letters to Santa, make festive crafts and decorations that you can take home. Get your shopping done while the kids have fun! The sounds of holiday caroling by the Rohnert Park Chorale will fill the faire and help get you in the holiday spirit. Food, music, great deals and crafts for the kids – what more could you ask for? Join us in this wonderful Rohnert Park tradition! Spreckels presents “The Tailor of Gloucester” Based on the famed Beatrix Potter story, this is the tale of a poor tailor who will never be able to deliver the mayor’s waistcoat on time without the help from the friendly mice in his shop. Simpkin, the cat has other plans for the little helpers. This delightful musical features unforgettable characters singing tunes that you will be humming long after the final bows. The curtain opens Nov. 23 and closes Dec. 16. Purchase your tickets by calling the Spreckels Box Office at 588-3400 or online at Box Office hours are Wed. through Sat., noon to 5 p.m. and one hour before show time. “Some bunny” hopes you’ll come to enjoy the show!
