Spreckels Theatre Company continues to build a Bay Area-wide reputation for excellence. In addition to the ten nominations and eight wins Spreckels Theatre Company (STC) received last March from the San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle (SFBATCC), STC has now been honored with 12 Theatre Bay Area Award (TBA) nominations and 15 nominations from the local Marquee Journalists Awards. The TBA Awards will be presented at the Herbst Theater in San Francisco Nov. 4. The Marquee Journalists awards, a more casual gathering, were presented at three Disciples Brewing Company Oct. 14.

What are these awards? The San Francisco Bay Area Theater Critics Circle is comprised of 40 plus theater writers and critics from all around the bay area. They may see whichever shows they wish, wherever they wish. The Theatre Bay Area Awards (TBA) is a peer-adjudicated program involving hundreds of people seeing shows in the bay area and rating them. The adjudicators are required to see a specific minimum number of plays each year, and those plays must include some produced outside their own geographical area. The Marquee Journalists Awards are a Sonoma County awards program, currently operating with five voting members of the local theatre press. They have a minimum required number of plays they must see and may choose the shows as they wish.

Here are the awards for which Spreckels Theatre Company is currently nominated:
