Volunteer docents are needed at Shollenberger Park to teach third graders about wetlands and habitats, lead bird walks, restore habitats and conduct research. Be a bell ringer for the holidays
The Salvation Army needs bell ringers to help raise much needed funds to support the Salvation Army services and programs. Stand by the kettle, ring the familiar bell and wish shoppers a joyous holiday season. Two- or three-hour shift are available. Sign up at volunteer.salvationarmy.org. Also needed are toy sorters and helpers at the Dec. 21 Christmas distribution.
Help pets find forever homes
Volunteers are needed for the 21st annual “Paws for Love” gala Feb. 8. Proceeds benefit homeless and abandoned pets. The event needs poster hangers, donation pickup, auction setup, food servers, cashiers and auction assistants, among others. Interested volunteers should attend an hour-long recruitment meeting at 10 a.m. Dec. 14 or Jan. 4 at the Finley Community Center in Santa Rosa. Contact Kim@pawsforlove.info.
Help parents, families in need
The Welfare League needs English-speaking or bilingual volunteers for three-hour time slots during their annual distribution Dec. 10-12 in Railroad Sq. Volunteers will greet parents or escort them to the gift areas. Call Ann at 707-479-7027.
