Homework help

Homework help resumes Sept. 18, Tuesdays 3:30-5:30 p.m.  Free homework assistance for grades K-12. Help with all subjects on a drop-in basis.

Adult programs

Healthy Living at Your Library: A Matter of Balance. Wed., Sept. 19, 1- 3 p.m. For older adults, provided by the Sonoma County Area Agency on Aging. Advanced registration required. Please call Sonoma County Area Agency on Aging at (707) 565-5936 or inquire at the information desk.


Master Gardeners: Dahlia Care and Culture. Sat., Sept. 22, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The first of four Master Gardener Fall 2018 workshops.


Virtual Reality Lab: Oculus Rift. Sat, Sept. 15, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

30 minute sessions with the Oculus Rift! 14 years and older welcome. Please make an appointment online or visit a service desk at the library to sign up. A signed waiver is required.


Book Discussion Group:  Tues., Sept. 18, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. 

Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng. New members are welcome! Pick up a copy of the book at the adult information desk.


Children’s and teen Programs

Zumba for Kids (Ages 5 and up). Fri., Sept. 14, 4- 4:45 p.m.

Dance and exercise.  Please wear comfy clothes to move in and shoes for exercising.  


Olympic Fencing Class (Ages 7 and up). Mon. Sept. 17, 4 p.m.

A fun class with basic safe fencing gear provided. Register online or at the library; space is limited.


First Chapters: Read-Along Book Club (Grades 1-3). Tues., Sept. 18, 4:30 – 5 p.m.


Family Yoga (Ages 3-6). Wed., Sept. 19, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

A high energy family yoga class combining animated yoga poses, games, storytelling and relaxation. 


Family Storytime: Pirates! (Ages 0-6). Wed., Sept. 19, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Stories, songs and crafts. For families with kids ages 0-6, with a parent or caregiver.   


Kids Yoga (Ages 6-12). Fri., Sept. 21, 4-5 p.m.

This is a kids only yoga class, parents/caregivers are welcome to observe. Please register through our events calendar, by phone at (707) 584-9121 or in person. 


The JC Transfer Option: A Path to College workshop. Sat., Sept. 22, 2- 3:30 p.m. An overview of the process of transferring from Santa Rosa Junior College to a four-year university. For high school students and their parents. Bilingual English-Spanish.


Weekly Storytimes—new days and times!  Preschool Storytimes (ages 3-6) Fri. at 10:30 a.m. beginning Sept. 7. Toddler Storytimes (ages 18 months-3 years), Tues. at 10:30 a.m. beginning Sept. 11. Baby times (ages 0-18 months), Thurs. at 10:30 a.m. beginning Sept. 13


Read to a Dog – Wed. from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. all year round.
