New Hope Church has been reaching out to the Cotati community to let their neighbors know that they are loved and cared for. Very simple concept. No strings attached. They are here for everyone.
The project for Thomas Page School came to a wonderful completion Nov. 22, when they were able to present to each student a homemade pillowcase with a brand-new pillow. There were 12 ladies that met weekly from April until just a few weeks ago when they made over 425 pillowcases.
The Congregation of New Hope Church pledged and donated funds towards the material, pillows and sewing supplies toward this project.
City Serve in Kern County donated 275 pillows. Some were king-size and they were able to take those to the Charles Street Village in Cotati and distribute pillows to each senior. Then they provided 41 king size pillows to the Vets’ Building in Petaluma during the Kincade Fire. Assist International from Ripon also donated pillows for the cause. The Rotary Club of Rancho Cotati also donated $600 toward the purchase of pillows. The hours spent making these pillowcases exceeded over 100 hours of volunteer time.
They have pillowcases left over and are sending brand new pillows and homemade pillowcases to Haven of Hope which is a Transitional Housing for girls in Santa Cruz County that have been in the foster care system and have reached 18 years of age. They are given a place to live and continue with education, job training and life skills.
A vision of blessing, care and love were completed with the help of so many people. New Hope wants to thank the community from the bottom of our hearts for helping us reach our community. New Hope Loves Cotati
