Fraud Alert: Fire Debris

Fraudulent bills for fire debris removal have been reported by property owners in Mendocino County who are participating in the state-sponsored fire debris removal program. While no instances have been reported in Sonoma County, both the County of Sonoma and the City of Santa Rosa want residents to be aware of the potential scam. If you receive a bill for payment associated with debris removal, DO NOT PAY IT, and please notify the District Attorney right away by calling (707) 565-5317. The County of Sonoma and City of Santa Rosa are not sending out any insurance reimbursement payment notifications at this time. Any requests for payment will come from a governmental agency. Additionally, a press release will be issued that explains the process to property owners once insurance reimbursement payment notifications are mailed.


Fraudulentas Para La Limpieza de Escombros de Fuego

Los propietarios del condado de Mendocino que participaron en el programa de limpieza de escombros de incendios,  patrocinado por el estado, han reportado facturas fraudulentas de limpieza de escombros. 

Aunque no se han reportado casos en el condado de Sonoma, el condado de Sonoma y  la ciudad de Santa Rosa quieren que los residentes estén consciente de la posible estafa.

Si recibe una notificación o cuenta asociada con la eliminación de escombros, NO LO PAGUE, y notifique al Fiscal de distrito inmediatamente, llamando al (707) 565-5317.

El Condado de Sonoma y la Ciudad de Santa Rosa no están enviando ninguna notificación de pagar con el reembolso del seguro en este momento. Cualquier solicitud o cuenta para pagar vendrá de una agencia gubernamental.

Ademas una notificación oficial a la prensa se emitirá, que explica el proceso una vez que las notificaciones de reembolso del seguro se envían a los propietarios.
