Just like that, Penngrove Social Firemen produce cash for Cotati family

At their monthly meeting on Aug. 6, the Penngrove Social Firemen were made aware of Cotati’s Stanley family, who lost their home to fire and explosion on June 28.

Unfortunately for the family, their losses are not covered by insurance.

Several people and groups have donated money, clothes and other basic necessities to the Stanley family.

Joe Reiter, past president of the Penngrove Social Firemen, made a motion that the organization donate $1,000 to the family, which was immediately approved by the membership. But it didn’t stop there, as more money was donated.

Vice President Dean de Graffenreid produced a cardboard box, placed $20 inside, and said he would like to make an additional contribution. The box was passed around the 60 members in attendance, and within a few minutes, another $650 was raised.

“The Penngrove Social Firemen are all about supporting our community,” said president Ray Soper.

The club is encouraging and challenging all other community members to contribute as well. Donations can be made at the Rohnert Park branch of Summit State Bank or any other Summit State Bank branch, to Stanley Family Fire Fund.
