This point along the Kidney Meridian (the circulation pathway that boosts energy and assists in reproductive health), is known to acupuncturists as Kidney 4. It is located behind and below the medial malleolus (the slightly protruding bone of the inner ankle). Kidney 4 is excellent for asthma, stiffness and pain of the lower back, and pain in the heel. This point is particularly wonderful for runners and other athletes who develop sports-induced asthma, or who suffer from lumbar pain. Pressing this point can restore circulation within the energy pathways, and can also be used preventively upon awakening each morning to avoid developing the symptoms.
