Nominations sought for Partnership Prize

The Partnership Prize has been established in order to recognize and stimulate successful cross-sector partnerships and nonprofit with nonprofit collaborations throughout the North Bay.

Cross-sector partnerships are partnerships between two or more partners from the for-profit, nonprofit, education or government sectors that benefit the business or mission objectives of the individual partners while collectively focusing on creating a greater good.

To be considered for the Partnership Prize, partnerships must not be purely philanthropic, such as solely giving or receiving financial support.

Exemplary partnerships are those which have created multiple linkages, activities and relationships between the partners, preferably over an extended period of time, and which have demonstrated measurable economic, social or environmental value.

Eight awards will be provided in the following categories:

• The Grand Prize: The most exemplary cross-sector partnership in the North Bay.

• Cross-sector partnerships between organizations with more than over 50 employees (three prizes, one each in Marin, Sonoma and Napa counties).

• Cross-sector partnerships between organizations with fewer than 50 employees  (three prizes, one each in Marin, Sonoma and Napa counties).

• Partnership of nonprofit with nonprofit organizations of any size (one prize).

Conceived by Marin-based cause marketing and cross-sector partnership expert Bruce Burtch and presented in partnership with NorthBay biz, the Partnership Prize awards will be incorporated into the second annual Glowing Your Business partnership workshop on Friday, Nov. 21 at Marin Country Club in Novato.

“There are many exceptional cross-sector and nonprofit with nonprofit partnerships creating much-needed economic, social and environmental impact on the North Bay community,” Burtch said.

“The goal of the Partnership Prize is to significantly increase these benefits by encouraging organizations to combine their marketing, mission and intellectual capacities, while focusing on the greater good.”
