City engineer adds title of assistant city manager to resume
Damien O’Bid can add another title to his resume, that of Cotati’s assistant city manager.
The City of Cotati announced Tuesday O’Bid was named interim assistant city manager to go along with his current titles of city engineer and public works director.
The interim position, according to a press release, will last up to six months.
O’Bid has served as city engineer/public works director since 2008.
“His long tenure and extensive knowledge and experience with city operations will enable him to successfully assume assistant city manager duties…and will continue the city’s focus on efficient delivery of services in Cotati,” Cotati City Manager Dianne Thompson said. “Damien will be taking on a variety of administrative tasks in the city manager’s office in addition to his city engineer duties.”
This position, previously held by Marsha Sue Lustig, was eliminated in 2012. O’Bid’s new position was effective July 11. Thompson hinted more changes could be coming to the city manager’s office.
“We are looking at potentially consolidating some management positions in order to increase line staff,” Thompson said.
Before coming to Cotati, O’Bid had more than a decade of service with the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board (NCRWQCB) and the Sonoma County Water Agency (SCWA).
