|Home Instead Senior Care donates $15,000 to REFB Brown Bag program
As part of a $15,000 grant from the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation, Redwood Empire Food Bank will receive funding for its Brown Bag program for local seniors.
The initiative provides supplemental groceries and fresh produce once a month to low-income seniors at 19 locations in six towns and through home delivery.
They serve 80,000 people in Sonoma County each month.
Redwood Empire Food Bank is one of eight organizations awarded grant funding from the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation in spring 2014.
“Our mission is very similar to the Redwood Empire Food Bank, as we both help enhance the health and lives of aging adults and those who care for them,” said Roger H. Baumgart, executive director of the foundation.
