NASCAR back at Sonoma Raceway

This weekend, June 20-22, marks the return of the NASCAR Sprint Cup series to Sonoma Raceway. It will be the 26th consecutive year the stars of NASCAR will visit the Sonoma Valley and the 1.99 mile road course for the Toyota/Save Mart 350. This road course event is only one of two on the 36-race schedule for the drivers and teams. Last year, Martin Truex Jr. won the event becoming the ninth different winner of the event the last nine years. There will also be plenty for fans to do during the weekend including two races on Saturday for other types of cars and an auction also on Sunday to benefit Speedway Children’s Charities with memorabilia from drivers and other sport stars. Along with the best stock car drivers in the world, this race also clogs traffic on Highways 37 and 121. The raceway is making a concerted effort to educate drivers on alternative routes around the raceway. For that information, go to
