|RP man shot in face in Windsor
A Rohnert Park man was hospitalized early Friday morning after being shot in the face in Windsor late Thursday night.
The 32-year-old man’s name has not been released by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the shooting. Thus far, three men have been arrested and questioned about the shooting.
Shortly before midnight, the Sheriff’s Office received several calls reporting gunshots and a man yelling at Jutta Way near Arata Lane, Sheriff’s Sgt. Cecile Focha said in a press release. A few minutes later, a man called to report that he’d been shot.
Upon arrival at Arata Lane and Brooks Road South, deputies found a vehicle at the intersection that had been hit with several bullets. They also found the victim hiding nearby in the bushes with a bullet lodged in his jaw.
He was taken to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Santa Rosa, and was expected to survive the injury.
The search for suspects continued in the area, and at 12:09 a.m., three men were found who had recently abandoned the and were walking away. One man was in possession of a loaded firearm, and deputies determined they were responsible for shooting the RP man as well as two shootings that took place earlier in the evening in Healdsburg.
The three suspects were identified as Miguel Angel Reynosa Madrigal, 19, of Windsor; Ricardo Botello, 18, from Healdsburg; and Jose Hugo Martinez-Jimenez, 19, from Santa Rosa.
Madrigal was arrested for attempted murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle, conspiracy to commit a crime and carrying a concealed loaded weapon. Botello was arrested for attempted murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle and conspiracy to commit a crime. Martinez-Jimenez was arrested for attempted murder and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Bail for all three was set at $1 million, and all three are scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, June 17, in Courtroom 9 of Sonoma County Superior Court.
