|‘Becky Shaw’ hits 6th Street stage June 20
A match made in hell. A blind date gone in a wickedly funny, yet twisted direction. Everyone is vulnerable, and no one is safe in the play “Becky Shaw,” which runs June 20–July 13 at the 6th Street Playhouse in Santa Rosa.
When Suzanna Slater and Andrew Porter, a newlywed couple, fix up their friends on a blind date, the outcome is as shocking as it is revealing. The simple introduction of Becky Shaw will set in motion a horrendous chain of events leaving none unscathed. Emotional manipulation mixed in with some surprising twists and plenty of sharp wit, and you’ve got the recipe for Gina Gionfriddo’s “Becky Shaw.”
Director Barry Martin says about the show, “‘Becky Shaw is one of those "gray area" pieces of theatre. As you see these characters revealed and the story of the play unfolds, you often don't know who you should be rooting for. To me that is true to life – things are seldom black and white – and a play like this is an engrossing experience.”
The cast includes L.C Arisman, Taylor Bartolucci DeGuilio, Mollie Boice, John Browning and Skylar Evans.
The show will be performed in the Studio Theatre. Tickets are $10 - $25 and are available online or at the box office. Visit www.6thstreetplayhouse.com for tickets and more information.
