|Milman named health officer
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors approved the appointment of a new health officer at its meeting on Tuesday, June 10.
With the appointment, Karen Milman, MD, MPH, currently Prevention Division Director of Public Health for Seattle and King County, will join the county on Aug. 5.
The County Health Officer provides leadership for the protection of public health, enforcement of public health regulations, and serves as an advisor to elected and appointed officials, members of the medical profession, and the public on matters affecting health and safety.
“This was a thorough and competitive process,” said Board Chairman David Rabbitt. “Dr. Milman is talented, experienced, and collaborative. We are extremely pleased to welcome her to the County family and our community.”
