The Adult Literacy Program of the Sonoma County Library is looking for adult volunteer tutors in Rohnert Park. The volunteers will work at the local Rohnert Park-Cotati Library teaching adults how to read and write English.

The program is learner centered and designed to help the adult students achieve their personal literacy goals. There is no cost to the tutors or students and a wide variety of teaching materials are provided.

The first step is to attend the orientation meeting on Wednesday, July 9.

The meeting will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Sonoma Valley Branch Library, 755 West Napa St, Sonoma.  No registration is necessary for the orientation.

The second step is to complete tutor training, which will be held on Saturday, July 12, in Sonoma from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Registration is required and more details will be provided at the orientation meeting.

For more information, call Melissa Trunick, Tutor Coordinator, at (707) 545-0831, ext. 1573 or go to www.sonomalibrary.org/literacy.
