This point, known to Acupuncturists as Ba Feng, is actually the four points in the webs of your five toes on each foot. These points are excellent for foot pain, stiffness of the joints, and also can be used to bring down a fever.

In Acupuncture theory, foot pain is often caused by a stagnation of the energy within the various Meridians that run along the top of the feet, such as the Liver Meridian, the Stomach Meridian and the Gallbladder Meridian. Pressing these points unblock the stagnation and restore circulation to the area.

As a bonus, fever from myriad origins can be reduced by stimulating the points at the farthest end of each meridian (meaning that to reduce the onrush of heat to the head, points at the end of each meridian at the feet are needled).

Note: Remember these vignettes are not medical advice.

Step one: Locate the points Ba Feng on your feet. The correct points will likely feel a little tender when using a firm touch.

Step two: Using your thumb or index finger, press and hold the pressure for 10 seconds. Repeat several times per hour, or until symptoms lessen.
