|6th Street Playhouse to feat Tony Awards with Sunday gala
This Sunday night, celebrate the Tony Awards at 6th Street Playhouse with people who love Broadway shows as much as you. This was an amazing year for Broadway, and if you didn’t get a chance to go to New York to see a show, you get to see what you missed Sunday on the big screen at 6th Street Playhouse in Santa Rosa.
The event includes red carpet photos, Broadway-themed cocktails, champagne and a dessert buffet. Additionally, there will be a silent auction featuring an array of valuable experiences and items. Each general admission ticket includes a cocktail and the dessert buffet donated by Michelle Marie’s Patisserie. VIP seating is available, which includes a table for four.
There will be trivia contests and prizes during commercial breaks and an opportunity to cast a ballot for the winners and win some great Broadway swag. Craig A. Miller will emcee the evening.
My predictions for some of the categories are for best play: “All the Way” starring Bryan Cranston; for best revival of a play, “A Raisin in the Sun” starring Denzel Washington; for best revival of a musical, “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” starring Neil Patrick Harris; for best book of a musical, “Bullets Over Broadway” written by Woody Allen; for best performance by an actor in a leading role in a play, Cranston; for best performance by an actress in a leading role in a play, Tyne Daly for “Mothers and Sons;” for best performance by an actor in a leading role in a musical, Harris; and for best performance by an actress in a leading role in a musical, Idina Menzel for “If/Then.”
Harris is having an amazing week. He is starring in the new movie “A Million Ways to Die in the West” and will be accepting a Tony Award this Sunday. Fans of Hugh Jackman will be happy to know he is hosting the Tony Awards again this year.
To buy tickets, call (707) 523-4185 from 1-4 p.m. or one hour before the event. Tickets are $50 general admission or $300 for a VIP table that seats four.
