Digging to shut down Commerce for one day
Bookmark and Share

The digging that has been occurring on Commerce Boulevard at the Avram Avenue intersection, Santa Alicia Drive (from Avram to Seed Farm Drive), and Seed Farm Drive (from Santa Alicia to Southwest Boulevard), will continue for at least another week, according to the Rohnert Park Dept. of Public Safety.

The work includes dig-outs, edge grinding, crack sealing and overlay paving. During the dig-outs, edge grinding and crack sealing work, localized traffic control will be in place.

During the overlay paving, there will be limited access for the affected roadways. The actual overlay paving work should be complete within one day per roadway segment.

Notice of the paving date will be placed on barricades along the affected roadways three days in advance. Expect significant delays during this time. All roads should be open to traffic by 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Commerce Boulevard will be closed one day the week of June 9, either Wednesday or Thursday. The city’s web site will be updated when closure dates are known.

Traffic controls will be in place between 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Alternate routes are advised.
