This point, known to acupuncturists as Liver 6, is located on the lower leg, seven inches above the tip of the medial malleolus (that bone of the inner ankle). It is excellent for abdominal pain, digestive distress or uterine bleeding. For example, a woman who is experiencing digestive difficulty and excessive bleeding on her period can benefit from this point. Pressing this point increases circulation within the energy pathways and can also be used preventively upon awakening each morning to avoid developing the symptoms.

Note: Remember these vignettes are not medical advice.

Step one: Locate the point Liver 6 on your lower leg. The correct spot will likely feel a little tender when using a firm touch.

Step two: Using your thumb or index finger, press and hold the pressure for 10 seconds. Repeat several times per hour, or until symptoms lessen.
