Crossing the Jordan earlier this month finalized an agreement with the owners of the Sonoma Mountain Village to open the Sonoma Mountain Marketplace, a large collective of local merchants and vendors selling antiques, vendors selling new and used items, artisan hand-made products and much more.

In addition, there will an indoor and outdoor Certified Farmers Market.

The first phase of the project calls for more than 150 vendors inside of the bottom floor of the 200,000 sq. ft. main building at Sonoma Mountain Village with plans to move upstairs as the Marketplace grows. This offers an opportunity for local merchants to open “mini” businesses inside the street fair.

Crossing the Jordan expects to have the Marketplace up and running Aug. 9.

The Sonoma Mountain Marketplace will be open every single weekend, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., year round.

The 1900's Main Street theme will include live performances right in the middle of the market, creating a theme park-like experience. Sonoma Mountain Eats will offer healthy food choices while other food carts will include other sweet favorites such as kettle corn and cotton candy.

The Sonoma Mountain Village has over 3,300 parking spots and the design of the building along with the large courtyards and outdoor patio seating will allow for a dining and family entertaining experience.

Crossing the Jordan is a local non-profit in Sonoma County that houses and brings hope to women and children in the community seeking to transform their lives.

Crossing the Jordan serves women that were homeless, battered, struggling with addiction or human trafficked. Its 12-month Life Transformation Program is funded primarily through industries. The non-profit currently has more than 60 beds in the three facilities, three thrift stores and a textile recycling operation.

The Sonoma Mountain Marketplace hopes to create career opportunities for the graduates of its programs.
