All branches of the Sonoma County Library will be closed on Saturday, May 24, in observation of Memorial Day.
The Rohnert Park-Cotati Friends of the Library Spring 2014 Book Sale takes place June 6-7. Sale hours on Friday, June 6 are 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 7.
From 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Saturday only, a bag of books costs $5 and individual books are on sale half price.
• Musical group Jubilee Klezmer will perform Saturday, June 14, from 2-3 p.m. The group includes clarinet, accordion, bass and mandolin plus vocalist Alby Kass.
• Our book discussion group meets next on Tuesday, June 17, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., discussing “Wild” by Cheryl Strayed. Copies of the book are available at the library information desk.
Basic library Internet
Learn to use the library catalog and databases on Tuesday, May 27, from 10-11 a.m. Sign up in advance, as space is limited to four people. You can sign up in person at the reference/information desk or call 584-9121 ext. 0920.
Morning Storytimes: Babytime Storytimes for children ages 0-17 months are on Thursdays at 10 a.m.; Wiggle Time Storytimes for toddlers ages 18-35 months are on Thursdays at 11 a.m.; and Preschool Storytime for children 3-5 are on Fridays at 10:30 a.m.
Read to a dog
The Read to a Dog reading program takes place each Wednesday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. and each Saturday from 2-3 p.m. Come sign up that afternoon to read to an appreciative dog.
Summer reading program
This year’s summer library program is called “Fizz! Boom! Read!” The program begins on Tuesday, June 10, and will feature a summer reading club with prizes for participants, storytimes and special events. There is also a Teen Summer Reading Program. Teen volunteers needed
Teen volunteers (ages 12 and up) are needed to help with the summer reading program in June and July. Come to the children’s desk for a volunteer application.
