The Rotary Club of Rohnert Park–Cotati believes that professions should be used as an opportunity to serve, which is why tonight, May 9, they are honoring those who have utilized their vocation in order to better the lives of community members around them. This will be the first annual Rotary Dinner and Awards ceremony.

At 5:30 p.m. in the events center at Sonoma Mountain Village, individuals will be chosen from a list of nominations as those who have gone above and beyond in their careers. Vocational services are one of five avenues Rotary recognizes, and within that group a Rohnert Park Dept. Public Safety officer, a Cotati Police Dept. officer and a fireman from Rancho Adobe Fire District will be selected. They will also recognize exemplary local business owners.

“The assets of our community are these individuals,” says Rotary Club member and owner of Sally’s Tomatoes Gerard Guidice. “They are the morale and compassionate glue that helps us. We are blessed with so many groups and organizations and people who spend their time helping those who are less fortunate then they are.”

Among the community-nominated guests of honor will be keynote speaker Helene Campbell, who is District Governor of Rotary International. By hosting this banquet, the club hopes to reinforce those values that make positive changes in the community.

Tickets can be purchased for $30 at The event is at 1100 Valley House Road in Rohnert Park.
