Adult programs

Master Gardener Janet Barocco will host a workshop on Culinary Herbs on Saturday, May 3, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

• Our book discussion group meets next on Tuesday, May 20, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., discussing “Quiet: The Power of Introverts In a World That Can’t Stop Talking” by Susan Cain. Copies of the book are available at the library information desk. 


Swing Street

Swing Street is a five-man band playing jazz, swing, standards and bossa nova. The group will perform May 17, from 2-3 p.m. The group includes horns, bass, guitar and percussion. This program is funded by the Friends of the Rohnert Park-Cotati Regional Library. 


Basic library Internet

Learn to use the library catalog and databases on Tuesday, May 27, from 10-11 a.m. Sign up in advance, as space is limited to four people. You can sign up in person at the reference/information desk or call 584-9121 ext. 0920.


Children’s programs

Morning Storytimes: Babytime Storytimes for children ages 0-17 months are on Thursdays at 10 a.m.; Wiggle Time Storytimes for toddlers ages 18-35 months are on Thursdays at 11 a.m.; and Pre-School Storytime for children ages 3-5 are on Fridays at 10:30 a.m.


Read to a Dog

The Read to a Dog reading program takes place each Wednesday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. and each Saturday from 2-3 p.m. Come sign up that afternoon to read to an appreciative dog. 


Saturday Storytime with Pam Brown

The next Family Storytime with Pam Brown will be on Saturday, May 10 at 11 a.m. This free storytime with stories and crafts is for ages 2-6. The theme this month is “Mighty Mice.”


Museum on the Go

The incredible Museum on the Go will be at the library on Tuesday, May 13 from noon-4:30 p.m. and on Wednesday, May 14 from noon-6 p.m. The Museum on the Go will stimulate your child’s curiosity to discover the world through playful exploration of the arts and sciences. This event is free.


Evening Family Storytime

The next evening storytime for children 2 and up and their families will be on Wednesday, May 21 at 5:30 p.m. Come in pajamas and bring teddy bears if you like.

Summer reading program

This year’s summer library program is called Fizz! Boom! Read! The program begins on Tuesday, June 10 and will feature a summer reading club with prizes for participants, storytimes and special events. There is also a Teen Summer Reading Program.
