The Petaluma Police Dept. arrested a Rohnert Park man on drug charges on Saturday night.

According to a press release by the department, officers responded to the 500 block of Murray Drive to investigate a report of a possible vehicle burglary in progress. When the first responding officer arrived on scene, 28-year-old Christopher Rat Knapp walked from the front of one house to the driveway of another, where he began acting suspiciously near a pick-up truck parked there.

Police then detained Knapp, and PPD K-9 Officer Art Farinha searched the area around the pickup truck with his canine partner “Jimmy.”

“Jimmy” found syringes and a little over one gram of heroin sitting on a tire of the pickup truck. Knapp was arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail.
