The Sonoma County Auditor-Controller-Treasurer-Tax Collector’s office has released the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and Citizens’ Report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2013.

The Citizens’ Report presents financial highlights for the county for Fiscal Year 2012-2013 and provides a high-level summary of information contained in the CAFR. The CAFR, which contains more detailed information than the Citizens’ Report, is intended as an in-depth look at the county’s finances for industry professionals such as financial analysts and bond rating agencies.

Board of Supervisors Chairman David Rabbitt recognized the positive news, such as an upgrade in the county’s bond rating, contained in the Citizens’ Report.

“What we see is the fruit of tremendous work by our county to remain fiscally disciplined while addressing our community’s key priorities,” Rabbitt said.

“We have all of our employees to thank, as well as the leadership of my colleagues on the board and the county administrator. I also would like to thank Mr. (David) Sundstrom for putting out such a great report.”

According to Auditor-Controller-Treasurer-Tax Collector David Sundstrom, “The Sonoma County Citizens’ Report was developed to be easily understood by non-accountants. This document provides the transparency in government the public deserves. I encourage taxpayers seeking more detailed information to explore the CAFR as well.”

The Sonoma County Citizens’ Report and CAFR documents are available for viewing on the Auditor-Controller-Treasurer-Tax Collector’s website at www.sonoma-county.org/acttc.
