Doctors With a Heart Day Feb. 14

Dr. Venus Ann Maher, a chiropractic physician whose clinic is located in Cotati, will be providing certain services free of charge during February as part of Doctors with a Heart.

Traditionally, this occurs on one day only, which for existing patients will be Feb. 14. However, because of a need that cannot be met in one day, new patients will receive a free history, examination and first treatment when they schedule any time in the month of February.

Maher has been providing service to Sonoma County for 26 years.

While all adjustments are free for Doctors with a Heart, optional donations will be accepted for the Redwood Empire Food Bank (REFB).

Services are by appointment only. An optional donation for REFB is requested. The Redwood Empire Food Bank is the leader in hunger relief, serving 78,000 neighbors in need each month.

They respond to the immediate needs of people seeking help through the provision of healthy food and nutrition education. Doctors with a Heart was started by Dr. Duane Schmidt, a dentist, in 1986 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The basic idea of Doctors with a Heart is to do what you do well for free on the chosen day and accept donations for worthy projects.

“I love serving the people of Sonoma County. Giving this benefit for the Redwood Empire Food Bank matches my heart,” Maher said. “After 26 years in practice, I see how great the need for access to good health care has grown. I welcome the chance to provide quality chiropractic care while raising funds and awareness for the families who are struggling in our community.”

Maher’s clinic is located at 525 E. Cotati Ave. Suite 115.
