The City of Rohnert Park on Jan. 29 announced it has granted a conditional use permit to Get Lean Foods.

Get Lean Foods is a manufacturer of low-calorie foods, including sugar-free chocolate bars and baked items such as cookies and brownies. The manufacturer specializes in products that are free of soy, dairy and gluten and that also are marketed to upscale stores such as Whole Foods. Get Lean Foods also donates 10 percent of its profits to diabetes and obesity research.

By relocating to the recently purchased 12,000 sq. ft. industrial building on a 1.75 acre parcel on Carlson Court, Get Lean

Foods will be able to expand its chocolate production, bakery, packing and distribution capabilities. The management team expects growing the business from its current level of eight employees to as many as 40.

Get Lean Foods has already began making inroads into Rohnert Park by contracting for services with Este Express Trucking for shipping, RPM Machine Works for tooling and a local web designer to produce its online presence and develop online purchase capability.
