|Tech boys lose close one to Coyotes 63-60
Technology High’s boys’ basketball team had Sonoma Academy on the ropes midway through their North Central League II contest on Tuesday, but the Titans were unable to close the deal as they fell 63-60.
The Titans carried a six-point lead into halftime, 31-25. But the Coyotes responded with a 21-9 scoring advantage in the third quarter to seize control of the game. Technology outscored the Coyotes in the final period 20-17.
The defeat dropped the Titans to 6-12 overall and 1-6 in the NCL II. Santa Rosa’s Roseland University Prep, which is locked in a tight battle for the league lead with Rincon Valley Christian, improved to 10-5 overall and 4-0 in league by beating Technology 52-41 on Jan. 17.
Tonight, the Titans host Calistoga (7-10 overall, 2-14 in NCL) at 7:30 p.m. The game will be played at Technology Middle School in Rohnert Park.
