|‘Annie Get Your Gun’ to hit Spreckels stage on Feb. 14
Female tenacity and ingenuity are personified in this classic Broadway musical about legendary sharpshooter Annie Oakley, which hits the Spreckels Performing Arts Center stage from Feb. 14-23.
Irving Berlin’s “Annie Get Your Gun” features a fictionalized version of the life of Annie Oakley (1860-1926), recounting her show business career and competitive and romantic relationship with rival Frank Butler, the sharpshooting star of Buffalo Bill’s “Wild West Show.”
“Annie Get Your Gun,” which first opened in 1946, showcases the musicality and ingenuity of Berlin, widely considered America's greatest songwriter – including “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” which has become the definitive show business anthem.
Show times are Thursday, Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m.; 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays; and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets are $26 general admission, $24 for seniors and $22 for youth.
