All branches of the Sonoma County Library will be closed on Saturday, Jan. 18, in observance of Martin Luther King Day. During this weekend holiday, there is also a planned service outage. The online library catalog, “My Account,” websites, telephones and telephone renewal will all be unavailable. All services are expected to resume on Tuesday, January 21st.
Master Gardener Ellen Swenson will host a workshop, “All About Pruning Roses” on Saturday, Jan. 25, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. This is a free event in the meeting room of the Rohnert Park-Cotati Regional Library. For directions, call 584-9121.
• Our book discussion group meets next on Tuesday, Jan. 21, discussing “The Cat’s Table” by Michael Ondaatje. Copies of the book are available at the library information desk.

Learn to use the library catalog and databases on Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 10-11 a.m. Sign up in advance, as space is limited to four people. You can sign up in person at the reference/information desk or call 584-9121 ext. 0920.
Morning Storytimes: Babytime Storytimes for children ages 0-17 months are on Thursdays at 10 a.m. through Jan. 30; Wiggle Time Storytimes for toddlers ages 18-35 months are on Thursdays at 11 a.m. through Jan. 30; and Pre-School Storytime for children ages 3-5 are on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. through Jan. 31.
Red Panda Acrobats to celebrate New Year
The Red Panda Acrobats will perform their daring tricks on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m. This event is for ages 5 and up.
Read to a dog
The Read to a Dog reading program takes place each Wednesday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. and each Saturday from 2-3 p.m. Come sign up that afternoon to read to an appreciative dog.
Teen Craft program
Teens grades 7 through 12 can craft their own unique magnets using books, decorative stones and other supplies during Teen Magnet Creation Day on Friday, Jan. 24, at 3:30 p.m. All materials will be provided. Pre-register at the children’s desk or by phone at 584-9121. Snacks and a free book for every teen participating.
