RP duo busted on robbery charges

The Rohnert Park Dept. of Public Safety arrested a Rohnert Park man and a juvenile on Sunday afternoon for allegedly robbing a pair of teens.

According to an RPDPS report, at approximately 3 p.m. on Jan. 5, an RPDPS officer responded to a report that two juveniles, both 13, were robbed of their skateboards and a cell phone in Santa Alicia Park.

The suspects, who were wearing bandanas over their faces, approached the victims in the park and demanded property from them. One of the suspects identified is 23-year-old Ismael Carmona Lopez, while the other is a minor. 

Within minutes and with only a description of the suspects, an officer checking the area located the suspects loitering under a bridge. 

Lopez was arrested for outstanding warrants, robbery, conspiracy and possession of stolen property. He was booked at the Sonoma County Jail. The second suspect, was taken into custody for robbery and conspiracy. He was transported to Juvenile Hall.
