Rohnert Park Piranha swimmers competed at the Pacific Swimming 14-under Junior Olympics trials/finals Dec. 6-8 in Morgan Hill. The swimmers are, in no particular order, Ian McKenzie, Jayson Shinn, Alexis Lewis, Katie Honey, Cayla Whetstone, Hailey Woodcox, Justin Wong and Miron English, Kenneth Shinn and Sena Erickson (both not pictured) also competed against approximately 1,300 other swimmers at the Winter Junior Olympic swim meet.

The Junior Olympics is the first step to get to the top meets. The higher a swimmer advances, the faster the cut times are. After the Junior Olympics comes Far Westerns in the spring. Kenneth Shinn, McKenzie, Wong and Whetstone all have qualifying times for Far Westerns, where they will compete against swimmers from a number of nations.
