Exploring health impact conference at SSU

On Dec. 7, Sonoma State University’s Department of Environmental Studies and Planning, Center for Sustainable Communities and Student Planning Association will host the school’s 30th Annual Planning Commissioners Conference to explore health impacts, land and water management issues. 

The conference is a daylong event featuring an agenda that includes a health impact assessment and a detail of integrating water and land management. The assessment will be hosted by Jonathan Heller, co-director of Human Impact Partners and will inform audiences of general plan updates. The Integrating Water and Land Management lecture will feature Elizabeth Patterson, California department of water resources, Allison Lassiter and Alex Hinds, Sonoma State University center for sustainable communities. 

The conference will also feature The Dan Curtin Lecture on Land Use Law, presented by SSU Department of Environmental Studies and Planning professor Tom Jacobson. 

To register for the conference costs $80 and includes free parking, course materials and a complimentary breakfast. Though designed for designing agency and staff, this conference is open to the public.
